Just spend time walking around the valley and take photos. The scenery is breathtaking. You will think you are in Switzerland. Get a local driver because the roads into the valley are narrow and difficult to navigate. If you visit the Aru Valley, you can skip the Betaab Valley, which is essentially a park.

Earlier known as Hagan Valley or Hagoon, Betaab Valley got its present name after the blockbuster Bollywood movie ‘Betaab’ was shot there in 1983. A combination of picturesque surroundings, the valley falls on the way to Amarnath Temple Yatra and is one of the three angelic valleys of Pahalgam; the other two being Aru and Chandanwadi.
Encircled by mountains featuring deodar and pine forests, Betaab Valley is a perfect gateway to enjoy the heavenly pleasure of Mother Nature. The sights of coloring beds of flowers amid the lush walnut and willow vistas make the entire panorama quite stunning casting a spell of magic on this land of eternal beauty. The experience is even more heightened by the musical whispers of several birds. Being a precious jewel of Jammu and Kashmir tourism, Betaab Valley is among a handful of Pahalgam tourist places to visit that should not be missed. Situated at a walking distance from the main center of Pahalgam, the valley is also an excellent camping site for trekkers and explorers.

Chandanwari is famous for being the base, or starting point, to the famous Hindu pilgrimage site, Shri Amarnath Yatra, which starts in June and ends in August. It is situated at an elevation of 2,895 meters, and located about 16 kilometers from Pahalgam. If you are looking for an offbeat tourist place in Jammu and Kashmir where you can relax in the company of nature, then you should visit this place. It is blessed with picturesque beauty, with the Lidder River flowing closeby, and is famous for its sightseeing opportunities, as it is surrounded by snowcapped mountains. Chandanwari is covered in snow from November till May, and you can watch the lovely sight of glaciers melting in the Lidder River.
